I’m proud to announce the availability of my first color print. My polka dots photograph has received a lot of notoriety this past year so I’m making it available as a limited edition archival giclée print. More info available on my site at www.stevedietgoedde.com/polkadots.htm

I was interviewed by Germany’s PeepTV back in 1999. Watch me talk, shoot, and look a lot younger. NSFW (boobs and stuff).

THE BEAUTY OF FETISH: VOLUME II

“The Beauty of Fetish: Volume II” was released by Edition Stemmle in 2001 following the success of the first volume which came out 3 years prior. This book focused primarily on the work that I did after I moved to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1998. Los Angeles provided a new environment and light to work with. Gone were the murky grays and industrial backdrops of Chicago. Southern California provided me color and year-round vibrant vegetation. This took a while to get accustomed to but I quickly found my aesthetic footing and let the creativity flow.  READ MORE ON VIMEO.

THE BEAUTY OF FETISH

Back in 1997 I decided I had shot enough quality work to start pursuing publishers about doing a book. I had saved up some money and thought I’d spend a year or so submitting my work to various publishers. Edition Stemmle had always been my favorite photography publisher. Their books were always spectacularly designed and were printed on the most luxurious papers imaginable. Their catalog of artists included many of my favorites, such as Ralph Gibson, Irina Ionesco, Nobuyoshi Araki, Kristin Capp, Ferit Kuyas, Lewis Hine, Tony Ward, Andreas H. Bitesnich, Skrebneski, and Andy Warhol. So it was them that I approached first.  READ MORE ON VIMEO.

Odelia, San Diego 1999 - Photographed in a super cool motel that hadn’t been modernized yet - complete with olive green shag carpeting.  I was horrified one day when I went back there to find that they had updated it to look like every other Embassy Suites out there.  Such a shame.  Shot with the Mamiya 645 with Tmax 400 film.  www.stevedietgoedde.com

Rose, Seattle 2006 - Photographed at a small Seattle airport. We even did some shots while flying but it’s super compact in those Cessna cabins so it’s hard to get varied angles.  It’s like trying to shoot in the back of a VW Beetle.  Rose wears one of her self-designed iconic Imp of Satan PVC catsuits. Photographed with the Yashica T4. www.stevedietgoedde.com
