Yolanda, Tujunga Canyon CA 1998 - From my second book The Beauty of Fetish: Volume II (Edition Stemmle). Yolanda was one of my first regular models when I moved to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1998. Yolanda was also the cover model for the book. Photographed with the Mamiya 645 with god only knows what kind of film at the time but probably Fuji something or other. UPDATE: video footage of the making of this photo can be seen on my PeepTV segment. The Yolanda footage is at both the beginning and ending of the video piece.

Justine Joli, Los Angeles 2006 - Justine fabulously wears a Syren latex ensemble. Justine and I had known each other for years but never actually shot anything until about six years after initially meeting. Sometimes shoots just take a while to happen. We shot this at my buddy Dave Naz’s house in Laurel Canyon. Justine was standing against an outdoor glass sliding door, and I had to get very narrow and thin so you couldn’t see my reflection behind her in the window. THE BEAUTY OF FETISH: VOLUME II
“The Beauty of Fetish: Volume II” was released by Edition Stemmle in 2001 following the success of the first volume which came out 3 years prior. This book focused primarily on the work that I did after I moved to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1998. Los Angeles provided a new environment and light to work with. Gone were the murky grays and industrial backdrops of Chicago. Southern California provided me color and year-round vibrant vegetation. This took a while to get accustomed to but I quickly found my aesthetic footing and let the creativity flow. READ MORE ON VIMEO.

Back in 1997 I decided I had shot enough quality work to start pursuing publishers about doing a book. I had saved up some money and thought I’d spend a year or so submitting my work to various publishers. Edition Stemmle had always been my favorite photography publisher. Their books were always spectacularly designed and were printed on the most luxurious papers imaginable. Their catalog of artists included many of my favorites, such as Ralph Gibson, Irina Ionesco, Nobuyoshi Araki, Kristin Capp, Ferit Kuyas, Lewis Hine, Tony Ward, Andreas H. Bitesnich, Skrebneski, and Andy Warhol. So it was them that I approached first. READ MORE ON VIMEO.
Steve Diet Goedde has been a fine art fetish photographer since 1990. He is known for his subtle approach to photographing the high-gloss fetish world in a very non-gloss, down-to-earth style. His attention to composition and black and white tonal quality has given him the title of the Ansel Adams of fetish. Steve established his photographic style in the early 1990s in Chicago where he photographed the contents of his first book "The Beauty of Fetish" (Edition Stemmle) which was released in 1998. That same year, Steve relocated to Los Angeles where he continued to define his evolving style. This west coast work was later compiled in his second Edition Stemmle book "The Beauty of Fetish: Volume II" in 2001. In 2006, Slish Pix released a DVD compilation of his work entitled "Living Through Steve Diet Goedde". In 2009, Steve has collaborated with French composer Robert Waechter on a CD entitled "GoeddeConcerto" (ReadyMade Music) in which the ConcertMaster of the Philharmonic of Nice, France interprets 21 of Steve's photographs into 21 mini-concertos. www.stevedietgoedde.com
